For us spending time in nature forms a major part of our approach to homeschooling. We find that our high energy children love to get outside and find plenty of things to take their interest. We use our naturewalks and what takes the childs interests as a spring board for other learning we may do at home. For that reason we have made nature journals for our children to encourage lots of observation and try to keep up with them by sourceing information and identifing different species for them.

We welcome anyone to join us on our walks where we encourage and promote respect for nature and each other. As we take care to guide our childrens behaviour when required we expect others to do so as well.

Stick Policy - we believe that getting creative with what we find in nature is all part of it and as our children are aware when it comes to playing with sticks they may lose their rights to play with sticks if after warnings they continue the unwanted behaviour.

What to bring?
Hat, sunscreen etc (or raincoats and beanines if weather in wet and cold)
Lunch & snacks, drinks
Nature Journal - hardbacked unlined book
Pencils
Camera
Binoculars
Magnifying lense
Any field guides of interest
